Wait for the video when, hopefully, you will not have to put up with the 3-D glasses. The print I saw was so murky in the 3-D segments that I thought the film must have been under-exposed. The story was suggested by Racer, the 7 year-old son of director/writer Robert Rodriguez, and will be exciting enough for children, but then there is that darn 3-D.

The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D

Max (Cayden Boyd) is that typical hero of a children’s fantasy film in that he is stuck in a boring classroom where a dull teacher tries to control the lives of his charges. The boy’s heroes which he fantasies about in his day dreams, Shark Boy (Sharkboy – Taylor Lautner) and Lava Girl (Taylor Dooley) actually show up, leading him on an adventure in which they are pitted against arch villain Minus (Jacob Davich, who also plays the classroom bully) to save the Planet Drool. I seldom become distracted during a film, but this one proved an exception.
