ReadTheSpirit Books go to the Frankfurt Book Fair

Thanks go to Publisher Stuart Matlins and our friends at Matlins’ media companies SkyLight Paths Publishing and Jewish Lights Publishing. For the first time since our founding in 2007, ReadTheSpirit Books made an appearance at the world’s largest book fair via Matlins’ kind offer to display our 2-page brochures in his booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair. At the fair, more than 7,000 exhibitors from 100-plus countries show their wares to 300,000 visitors, focused on making global connections in publishing.

Matlins sent us this snapshot from Frankfurt, showing our brochures on a shelf at his SkyLight Paths and Jewish Lights booth. No, ReadTheSpirit staffers were not “in person” with Matlins this year, but we may join him in future years.

Care to read more about the book fair?
The New Yorker published an overview, which says in part: The Frankfurt Book Fair, which took place in Germany last week, feels like an airport—gift shops, people movers, high ceilings, ample bathrooms, the anxiety of missing something—except you can’t go anywhere. That’s because almost everyone—everyone who is someone in the publishing world—has come here. “I’m here therefore I am,” said Richard Nash, who brought his Web site Small Demons for the second year in a row.
